Current Initiatives & Projects
The Grand Colonial Library
A grand library in Pretoria, built in nineteenth-century Transvaal style, to collect, archive and digitise the written record of Southern Africa and hold it safe from censorship and destruction.
Goal: R250,000
Restoration Efforts
Ongoing restoration and upkeep of the physical heritage of our communities, so that what our forebears built and where they lie is not lost to neglect.

The Online Library and E-book Shop
A digital library where members can read, study and publish work about their own history, with an e-book shop so that writers in our community can sell their books directly.
Goal: R50,000
We are not a political party, a political movement, or a front for one. We hold no party affiliation, endorse no candidate, and pursue no legislative programme. What we do is study, preserve, teach and publish. Everything else follows from that.
How You Can Help
Getting Involved
Become a Member and Learn
Membership is for anyone who wants to know this history properly. You will get site and battlefield visits, talks by historians, access to our research and library, and the company of people who take the past seriously. No expertise required, only interest.
Get Involved
Lend your time and skill. We need researchers, writers, translators, photographers and hands for restoration work, whatever you are good at.
